21st June, 2008 Conwy Bay - 1537 hours Overcast - Slight Sea
The Coastguard received a call reporting an object floating in sea which could be an upturned small speedboat. The ILB launched and discovered the object to be a 5 ft x 4 ft block of polystyrene. The was taken aboard and brought ashore and disposed off. The ILB returned to station at approximately 1620 hours. |

23rd June 2008 Llanddulas - 1900 hours Calm Sea
The ILB was on exercise in the vicinity of the lighthouse off the Great Orme when they were informed by Holyhead Coastguard they had received a call form a member of the public informing them that two of their friends were overdue from a trip in an inflatable canoe. The two had set off from the rainbow bridge heading for Llanddulas. In view of the distance the ILB came ashore at Llandudno and was taken by road to Colwyn Bay. Following a search the inflatable canoe was located 2½ miles off shore and contained two teenage boys. They were very reluctant to accept assistance but after a sever talking to by the lifeboat crew they reluctantly agreed to be taken ashore. The lads were then taken into the ILB and their canoe was towed ashore and they were landed at Colwyn Bay. The ILB then returned to station at approximately 2100 hours |

23rd June, 2008 Penrhyn Bay - 2210 hours Calm Sea - Dusk
Holyhead Coastguard received a phone call from a member of the public to say that 5 teenage lads had set off in an inflatable from Penrhyn Bay and there was concern for their safety in view it becoming dark. When the ILB arrived at the scene the lads had already come ashore and seemed to be quite sensible. They were then given some sea safety advice by the crew and the boat returned to station at about 2245 hours. |

4th July, 2008 Conwy Marina - 1110 hours
Llandudno ILB and Conwy ILB were called out following a collision at the entrance to Conwy Marina between the Verity, a 35' motor cruiser which was moored in the river, and Seaboss which had lost engine power. In the collision the Seaboss was holed but between them both ILBs succeeded in getting the casualty into Conwy Marina where it was hauled out for inspection and repair. There were two person on board the Seaboss but neither sustained any injury. The ILB returned to station at 1145 hours. |

6th July, 2008 Colwyn Bay 1957 hours Calm - Good Visibility
The ILB was requested to launch following a report of what appeared to be an canoe in difficulties in Colwyn Bay. The ILB was taken by road to Colwyn Bay and launched by the pier. They quickly located the object which turned out to be a large tree but from a distance looked like a canoe with a person on board. The ILB towed the tree ashore where it was disposed of and they returned to station at 2030. |

7th July, 2008 Between Pier & Pentrwyn 1634 hours Bright - Slight Sea
The ILB was requested to launch to investigate an object floating in the sea. It was found to be the wheelhouse from a boat and from its appearance it had been in the sea for some some. The ILB towed the object ashore and efforts would be made to ascertain which boat it come from. The estimated time of the return of the ILB is 1715 hours. |

10th July, 2008 The ALB was requested to go to the assistance of a 39' yacht, Therapy, which had suffered engine trouble 12 miles north of the fairway buoy. There were four persons on board, one of whom what suffering from severe seasickness. When the lifeboat arrived at the casualty a crew member went on board and secured a towing line. The yacht was then towed to the Menai Straits where they were met by the Beaumaris lifeboat who took ashore the passenger who was ill. The yacht was then secured to a mooring by the Gazelle (opposite Bangor Pier) and the ALB then returned to Llandudno Bay at approximately 0200 hours |

16th July, 2008 Colwyn Bay - 1005 hours Sunny - Force 4
Holyhead Coastguard requested the ILB to make a shore search at Colwyn Bay following reports of a missing male in his early 30’s. The local Coastguard and Police were on site. At 1020 hours the ILB launched from the Rhos-on-Sea slipway to search as far as Llanddulas. At 1030 hours the Sea King helicopter took off from Valley to assist in the search. At 1040 everyone was notified by the Coastguard that the missing person had been found and was in Police custody. All services were stood down and the ILB returned to station at approximately 1100 hours. |

25th July, 2008 Llandudno Bay - 2220 hours Calm
The ALB was requested to go to the assistance of a 30 ft yacht, Silver Marine, with a crew of two on board, which was en route from Liverpool to Conwy. The yacht was having mechanical problems and was in the vicinity of the the new wind farm construction site at Rhyl Flats. The ALB took the casualty in tow and because of the low tide the yacht was moored in Llandudno Bay. The ALB then had to wait for the tide to rise and was eventually recovered at 0300 hours. |

27th July, 2008 West Shore - 1445 hours Calm - Hot and Sunny
The ILB was requested to launch to go to the aid of two 18 year olds, one male one female, who were cut off on the sand banks, by the rising tide. When the ILB arrived at the scene both youths were waist deep in water and intended to swim across the North Deep back to shore. The were completely unaware of the danger they were in. They were taken in the lifeboat back to shore and re-united with their fathers. The ILB returned to station at 1515 hours. |

1st August, 2008 Rhos-on-Sea - 1634 hours Windy with rain
The ILB was requested to launch following reports of two men stranded on the breakwater at Rhos-on-Sea. The two men made their own way ashore, where they were met by the Coastguard, before the lifeboat had reached Rhos-on-Sea so the ILB was stood down and returned to station at 1700 hours |

2nd August, 2008 Conwy Bay - 1905 hours Clear but near gale force winds
The ILB was requested to launch to go to the aid of a 35’ yacht, Firebrand, which had suffered sail damage and engine failure and was on route from the Isle of Man to Conwy. There were two crew on board, one of whom was injured due to the violent motion of the boat. The yacht was anchored in Conwy Bay west of the Great Orme and on arrival at the casualty a crew member was put on board to assist with raising the anchor. The yacht was towed in to Conwy Marina where the injured person, who had knee damage, was met by paramedics. The Andy Pearce arrived back at Llandudno approximately 2230 hours. |
