December, 2006 Rhos-on-Sea/Colwyn Bay - 2030 hours Moderate - Rain The ALB was launched
following reports of flares being seen off shore in an area between
Rhos-on-Sea and Old Colwyn. The Andy Pearce was launched and made
a radar and visual search of the area whilst the Coastguard made a
search of the coastline. Nothing was found the lifeboat was stood
down and returned to the slipway at North Shore at approximately 2145
hours.

November, 2006 Puffin Island - 1145 hours Moderate to Rough - Heavy Rain Squalls The Coastguard requested the
ALB to launch following a call from the fishing boat Utsker which was
experiencing engine problems 3 1/2 nautical miles north north west of
Puffin Island and had three people on board. Wind was NW
5-6. The Andy Pearce arrived at the scene and stood by whilst the
crew of the fishing boat managed to start their engine. The Andy
Pearce then escorted the Utsker to Deganwy Marine and returned to
Llandudno North Shore at about 1500 hours.

October, 2006 Rhos-on-Sea - 2357 hours Windy and Rough The lifeboat was requested to
launch following reports of a female in the sea. As they were
preparing to leave the boathouse the crew were stood down by the
Coastguard.

October, 2006 West Shore - Llandudno - 0915 hours Wet and Windy with Rough Seas The ILB launched at the
request of the Coastguard following reports of four people on the
rescue raft at the West Shore. There was also an inflatable
there. When the ILB arrived at the scene they found it was four
Environmental Agency employees working there who had used their own
inflatable and they were in no danger. It was therefore a false
alarm with good intent. The ILB returned to station.
Llandudno - North
Shore - 1340 hours
Windy with Choppy Seas A female swimmer was reported
in difficulties in Llandudno Bay. The ILB attended the scene but
the swimmer came ashore unaided.
West Shore - Llandudno
- 1345
Windy with Rough Seas Whilst attending the swimmer
at the North Shore the ILB was requested to attend at the West Shore
following reports of a small orange boat in difficulties. When
the ILB arrived on scene the "boat" turned out to be the safety raft
which, in the rough conditions, had been mistaken for a boat.
This again was a false alarm with good intent. The ILB then
returned to station.

October, 2006 Rhos-on-Sea - 0150 hours Rough Seas Reports were received of a
man in the sea at Rhos-on-Sea. The ILB was requested to launch
but stood down before arriving at the scene as the man involved came
ashore unaided.

October, 2006 West Shore - Llandudno Ebb Tide with Choppy Seas The ILB was requested to
launch following reports of a female swimmer in difficulties off the
West Shore. The ILB arrived on the scene and launched and
escorted the swimmer back to the shore. The ILB then returned to
station.

October, 2006 Little Orme Windy with rough seas The Coastguard received a
call reporting two jet skies in difficulty off the Little
Orme. The two managed to make their way to Colwyn Bay where they
came ashore unharmed. The ILB was then stood down

October, 2006 Rhos-on-Sea Choppy The ILB was requested to
launch following a call made to the Coastguard that there was a person
in difficulty in the water in the Rhos-on-Sea area. The person
managed to get ashore unaided and the ILB was stood down without
launching.

September, 2006 Colwyn Bay - 1650 hours The ILB was requested to launch to go to the assistance of a jet skier who was in the water 1/2 a mile from Colwyn Bay pier and unable to swim back to his draft. The helicopter was also requested to attend. A passing fishing boat arrived on scene just before the ILB and helicopter and was able to take the casualty to his craft. He was then able to turn the craft upwards and was able to restart the same and return to shore unaided. The ILB and helicopter then returned to base. |

August, 2006 Penrhyn Bay - 0800 hours Drizzle - Calm The ILB was requested to
launch following a call to the Coastguard reporting the body of a woman
in the sea off Penrhyn Bay. The ILB launched and located and
recovered the body from the vicinity of Angel Bay. The body was
brought ashore and handed over to an undertaker. The Police were
also in attendance. The ILB returned to station at approximately
1030 hours.

August, 2006 Llandudno - West Shore - 2038 hours Dusk - Calm The ILB was launched from the West Shore following the Coastguard receiving a call from a member of the public that three small children were on the sandbank and cut off by the tide. The children were seen running towards the life raft. The ILB quickly located the children and took them off the raft and back to the shore where they were reunited with their parents. It's believed they were all on a day trip from Ruthin. The ILB then returned to station. |

August, 2006 Conwy Bay - 2315 hours Misty Rain The ALB and
shore crew were requested to stand by following a call
from a loan sailor in 36 ft. nobby en route from Holyhead to Conwy who
was unsure of his position due to the deteriorating visibility caused
by drizzle and poor visibility. Conwy ILB were launched and they
located the casualty in the vicinity of the fairway bouy and escorted
him in to Conwy harbour. Llandudno's ALB was then stood down.

July, 2006 West Shore, Llandudno - 1720 hours Clear - Force 4 The Coastguard requested the
ILB to launch following reports of a swimmer in difficulties off West
Shore. The ILB quickly located the swimmer, a Polish man in his
20's. He was taken ashore and handed over to the
Coastguard. The man was unhurt. The ILB then returned to
station.

July, 2006 Rhos-on-Sea - 1545 hours Clear with an off shore breeze and choppy sea The ILB was launched to go to
the assistance of a 15 ft. speedboat which had broken down and was
drifting about 1/4 mile from the Rhosneigr Buoy. On board were
three men and one woman. The ILB took the casualty in tow and
took them to the shore at Rhos-on-Sea where all were found to be safe
and well. The ILB returned to base at 1630 hours.

July, 2006 1654 hours The Coastguard requested the
ILB to launch to assist a broken down jet ski. After launching
the ILB was stood down following being informed that a passing boat had
gone to the assistance of the jet ski and the ILB was no longer
required.

July, 2006 Colwyn Bay Pier - 1351 hours Sunny and calm The ILB was requested to
launch following a request for assistance after a young girl had fallen
overboard from a dinghy. The ILB was half way to the scene when
they were recalled. Presumably the child had been picked up by
someone else.
Llandudno Bay - 1440
hours
Sunny - Light Breeze At the request to the
Coastguard the ILB was launched following reports of an inflatable
dinghy moving quickly seawards. It was not known if there was
anyone in the dinghy. The ILB quickly found the dinghy with
no-one on board. The Coastguard requested the ILB to make a
search of the bay in case there was anyone in the water. Not
finding anyone the ILB was stood down and returned to base at
approxiamtely 1500
West Shore,
Llandudno - 2024 hours
Twilight - calm The ILB was requested to
launch following a call to the Coastguard reporting some lads on the
sand banks. The ILB was taken to the West shore where they were
met by the Police who informed them that the lads had managed to wade
ashore. The ILB was stood down and returned to station.

July, 2006 North Shore, Llandudno - 1340 hours Sunny and calm The ILB was requested to
launch following reports of a missing 8 year old boy in the vicinity of
the paddling pool at Craig-y-Don and the Little Orme. The ILB
searched the shoreline between the paddling pool and the Little Orme
whilst the RNLI shore crew together with the Coastguard and the Police
searched the surrounding area. The boy was found about 45 minutes
later at the Rhos-on-Sea Golf Course. It is not known how he got
there or who found him. The ILB returned to station at
approximately 1430.

July, 2006 Great Orme - 1730 hours Clear and calm The ILB was requested to
launch following reports of woman who had been walking on a
coastal path and had slipped and fallen down the cliff at Pigeons
Cave. She had suffered a knee injury. The intention was for
the
Coastguard to lower the woman down the to lifeboat. It was
decided it would be safer for the women to winched off and the RAF Sea
King
helicopter attended and winched the woman up and she was taken to
Ysbyty Gwynedd. During this time the ILB stood by and once the
women was safely on board the helicopter the ILB returned to station.

July, 2006 West Shore, Llandudno - 1415 hours Calm The ILB was called to assist
when 50 people became stranded by the incoming tide on the West
Shore sand banks. The Coastguard was also in attendance.
The ILB ferried 22 people to safety whilst Conwy harbour launch picked
up another eight and landed them safely on shore. The remainder
were guided on foot by the Coastguard to shore. All were safe and
well.
North Shore,
Llandudno - 1500 hours
Calm The ILB went to the said of a
man aged about 20 swimming at least 1/4 mile off
shore and still heading out to sea. The ILB brought him safely
ashore and gave him some sea safety advice. The ILB returned to
station at 1545 hours.

July, 2006 Angel Bay, Little Orme - 1930 hours Clear and calm The ILB was requested to
launch following reports of a man in trouble by Angel Bay. He was
being assisted by two other men. The Sea King helicopter was also
requested to attend. The ILB arrived on the scene at 1945 and
took the man ashore. He was then transferred to the helicopter
and taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd at 1955. The ILB then returned to
station.

July, 2006 Penrhyn Bay - 18000 hours Clear and calm Whilst on exercise the ILB
was diverted to assist two people in a small rubber dinghy which was
drifting of Penrhyn Bay. The ILB shepherded the dinghy and its
occupants to the safety of Rhos-on-sea and then returned to Llandudno
to continue on exercise.

July, 2006 Great Orme - 1145 hours Good visibility - Swell A man was spotted, by staff
on the pier and by the crew of the pleasure boat Neptune, swimming out
to sea. They alerted the Coastguard who requested the ILB to
launch and investigate. They found the man, who was a strong
swimmer and accompanied by a canoeist. He said he was swimming
round the Great Orme. The ILB crew informed him that there was a
heavy swell by the lighthouse and advised him to return to shore, which
advice he appeared to take. The ILB then returned to station.

July, 2006 Colwyn Bay - 2010 hours Fairly calm - Good visibility Holyhead Coastguard requested
Llandudno's ILB to launch following reports of a jet ski in trouble at
Colwyn Bay. The ILB was taken by road to Colwyn and launched from
the slipway where they located the casualty about 200 yards from the
shore. There were three people in the water. Two of the
people were taken into the lifeboat and the other person was put back
on the jet ski and the ILB towed it back to shore where all three were
landed safe and well. The ILB returned to station by road.

July, 2006 West Shore, Llandudno 1306 hours Calm A member of the public alerted the Coastguard that there were two people on the sand banks in danger of being cut off by the incoming tide. The ILB was requested to attend and launched at West Shore. A member of the public then advised the crew that the two people involved had managed to wade ashore so the ILB was stood down and returned to station. |

July, 2006 Rhos-on-Sea - 1030 hours Calm Whilst on exercise the ILB
was requested by the Coastguard search north of Rhos-on-Sea after
flares had been seen. Rhyl ALB was also requested to search in
the vicinity. Llandudno's ILB found the casualty, a 17" GRP yacht
with three men on aboard and approximately 2 miles north of
Rhos-on-Sea. The ILB took the casualty in tow and landed it
safely at Rhos-on-Sea. Whilst the ILB was out the land rover went
to the aid of a car that become stuck in the soft sand near the end of
the lifeboat slipway at Llandudno. They towed the car out of the
sand to the relief of the car owner.
Rhos-on-Sea - 1515
hours
Calm The ILB was requested by the
Coastguard to go to the aid of a 14 ft Speed with three men on board
which had lost engine power close to Rhosneigr buoy at
Rhos-on-Sea. They took the boat in tow and and landed it safe at
Rhos-on-Sea. The ILB returned by sea to Llandudno at
approximately 1600 hours.

June, 2006 Rhos-on-Sea - 2208 hours Calm The Coastguard received a
call from a member of the public who had heard calls for help coming
from the harbour at Rhos-on-Sea. Llandudno's ILB was tasked to
attend and was taken by road to Rhos-on-Sea. A man had attempted
to swim out to his boat but got into difficulties and clung to
another boat and proceeded to call for help. A local launched his
dinghy and brought the man ashore. He was then taken by ambulance
to hospital. No longer being required Llandudno ILB returned to
station.

June, 2006 Conwy Bay - 1220 hours Light drizzle - Fairly calm The ILB was requested to
launch following a call for assistance received from a 23ft trimaran,
Freewind, which was taking in water after colliding with a buoy.
There was one man and one woman on board and the casualty which was en
rout from Ireland to Conwy. The ILB took out a portable pump and
that with the station mechanic was put on board the casualty. The
ILB returned to station and Beaumaris lifeboat was requested to take
the casualty in tow to the Menai Straits. Conwy ILB attended to
return Llandudno's station mechanic and the pump to Llandudno.

June, 2006 Colwyn Bay - 1935 Choppy - Force 5/6 The Coastguard requested the
ILB to launch following a report of jet skiers in trouble at Colwyn
Bay. The ILB was taken by road to Colwyn Bay and quickly located
one jet skier in difficulties approximately 1/2 a mile east of the
Rhosneigr buoy at Rhos Point. He had been out about 30 minutes
when his engine had failed and he couldn't re-start it. The ILB
took the jet ski in tow with the rider on board and towed him to the
Colwyn Bay slip. All four jet skiers in the group were well
equipped. The ILB returned to station at 2025 hours.

June, 2006 Llandudno/Colwyn Bay - 0750 hours Choppy - Blowing drizzle The ILB was tasked to
launched following reports of a jet ski in difficulties in the
Rhos-on-Sea area. The ILB searched the area between the Little
Orme and Colwyn Bay pier and the Coastguard searched along the
shoreline but found nothing. Two small boats were seen
fishing to seaward and they were contacted by the
Coastguard. They reported that they had not seen any jet ski in
the vicinity but because of the blowing drizzle one of their boats
could have been mistaken from the shore for a
jet ski . It was assumed that this was a false alarm with good
intent and the ILB was stood down at 0830 hours and returned to base.

June 2006 Conwy Bay - 1515 hours Calm Whilst on exercise in Conwy
Bay the ALB went to the assistance of Dawn Treader, a 25' auxiliary
sailing yacht with one man and one woman on board, which was
experiencing engine problems. The casualty was taken in tow to
Conwy Marina and the ALB continued with its exercise.

June, 2006 Colwyn Bay Pier - 1820 hours Choppy The coastguard requested the
ILB to launch following reports of two children adrift in an inflatable
dingy. The ILB was taken by road to Colwyn Bay but on arriving
there it was found that the two children had managed to get ashore by
themselves and the ILB returned to station.

June, 2006 Llandudno Pier - 1004 hours Choppy The ILB was launched
following reports of two dogs trapped on rocks near Llandudno
Pier. There was some concern because one of the dogs was wearing
a lead and had been seen with it's owner. The area was being
searched when the crew were informed that the owners had been found
safe and well ashore. One of the owners was then taken out in the
ILB to retrieve his dog which quite happily jumped into the ILB.
The other dog was able to make its own way ashore.

June, 2006 East of Puffin Island - 1325 hours Rough conditions The ALB was tasked to launch to the aid of a 5.5 metre diving rib which had lost engine power east of Puffin Island. There were five persons on board. The ALB took the casualty in tow and headed towards Conwy. There were met at the fairway buoy by Conwy ILB who, because of lack of water in the channel, took over the tow and took the casualty into Conwy. The ALB then returned to station at 1545 hours |

following reports that a number of people were on the sand banks and
were in danger of be cut off by the rising tide. The ILB brought
safely to shore one adult, two children and one dog. The ILB
returned then to base.

June, 2006 Llandudno - 2006 hours Calm The ILB was launched after reports of a canoe trapped under Llandudno Pier. On investigation it was found to be an old battered canoe that had obviously been derelict for some time. The canoe was then brought ashore and the ILB stood down. |

May, 2006 West Shore - 2123 hours Calm - Dusk The ILB was tasked to launch
after the Coastguard had received reports of someone shouting from the
West Shore sand banks. The ILB launched in the North Deep but
no-one was found on the sand banks. However the shore crew
located
someone walking is a strange fashion on the beach near
black rocks and the ILB found a Polish girl walking barefoot and
soaking wet and in a very distressed state. They took her ashore
and she was taken by ambulance to Llandudno hospital. The girl
had been cut off by the incoming tide and had called for help but
assuming her cries had gone unheard she then swam ashore. A crew
member took some dry clothes to the hospital for the girl and after
recovering she was allowed home. The ILB returned to base about
about 2200 hours

May, 2006 Great Orme - 1435 hours Fairly Calm - Light Drizzle The ILB was requested to
launch by the Coastguard after they received information of a canoeist
is trouble in the vicinity of Hornby Cave. The ILB located two
canoeist at Pigeons Cave where they had gone ashore for a break and
neither were in need of assistance so the ILB returned to base some 15
minutes later after ascertaining that there were no other canoeists in
the area.

April, 2006 Puffin Island - 1700 hours Slight Sea - Sunny The ALB was launched at
approximately 1700 hours to go to the assistance of the yacht Dulcinia,
a 35' Moody with 5 people on board. The yacht had experienced
engine failure and requested assistance. The Andy Pearce was
launched and on arriving on the scene a mechanic was put on board with
a starter kit. He was able to get the engine running but the
yacht was advised to head for Beaumaris rather and Conwy as planned
because at the time of the incident it was low tide. Beaumaris
lifeboat escorted the casualty to Beaumaris and Andy Pearce returned to
Llandudno just after 1900 hours.

April, 2006 Great Orme - 1600 hours Force 5-7 - Westerly The ALB was requested to
launch assist Daydream - a 33' auxiliary sailing yacht Danish X332
class based in Liverpool - with two men
and one woman on board. The yacht had set off from Liverpool to
Port Dinorwic in the Menai Straits but
on reaching the west constable buoy experienced alternator failure
although
she was proceeding under sail. Due to the rough seas and heavy
swell the Coastguard advised that the casualty should be escorted by
Llandudno's lifeboat into Conwy. The ALB, on reaching Daydream,
secured a towing line to the casualty but had to wait by the fairway
buoy for the tide to rise sufficiently as the casualty had a 6'
draft. She was then taken to Conwy marina and secured and the ALB
returned to base at approximately 1930 hours.

April, 2006 Colwyn Bay - 0700 hours The ILB was requested to
launch at approximately 0700 hours. The Police had found a woman
on the beach at Colwyn Bay who was threatening to commit suicide.
Before the ILB arrived on scene the Police had managed to dissuade the
woman and took her into custody. The ILB was subsequently stood
down.
Great Orme - 0920 hours
Slight Sea with Blustery Showers Whilst the ILB was on exercise in the Llandudno area they received a request from the Coastguard that a man and dog were stranded on rocks near Austins Rock. On arrival the located the man and dog and requested the cliff rescue team to come to their aid. The man and dog were both safely taken back to safety whilst the ILB stood by below the cliffs. It transpired that the dog had gone missing whilst out walking yesterday evening and the man, from Prestatyn, went back to look for it this morning. He subsequently became stranded due to wet slippery conditions under foot. |

March, 2006 3 Miles North West of Great Orme - 2135 hours Heavy Swell and Freezing The ALB was requested to launch by Holyhead Coastguard after they received a call from a yacht experiencing engine problems. The casualty, Manyana, was a 36' yacht of wooden construction and in good condition. It is believed she was on route from Bangor to Liverpool with four men on board when she developed engine problems, thought to be caused by fuel contamination. The yacht continued under sail but because one of the crew was suffering from sever sea sickness they requested assistance to get into Conwy. The ALB arrived on scene very quickly but was unable to put a crewman on board because of the heavy swell and near freezing conditions. A line was attached to the casualty and she was towed through the north deep into Conwy. All the crew were well. The ALB returned to station at approximately 0100 hours. |

8th March, 2006 Great Orme - 2009 hours Both the ALB and ILB were launched at the
request of the Coastguard after the Police helicopter had had detected
a heat source near the lighthouse on the Great Orme. Two dogs
were found running loose and barking furiously in the vicinity. After a
through search by both boats and the helicopter from RAF Valley and a
search of the surrounding land by the Coastguard nothing was
found. The two dogs disappeared and it was assumed that they may
have been chasing sheep. The lifeboats were stood down at 2130
and returned to station.

January, 2006 Llanddulas - 1310 hours - Calm - Clear The ILB was asked to launch
after the coastguard received a call reporting a body in the sea off
Llanddulas. On route to Llanddulas by road they received a call
to the effect that the item in the water was actually a tyre so the ILB
was stood down and returned to base.
