22nd January, 2006 Llanddulas - 1310 hours - Calm - Clear
The ILB was asked to launch after the coastguard received a call reporting a body in the sea off Llanddulas. On route to Llanddulas by road they received a call to the effect that the item in the water was actually a tyre so the ILB was stood down and returned to base. |

8th March, 2006 Great Orme - 2009 hours
Both the ALB and ILB were launched at the request of the Coastguard after the Police helicopter had had detected a heat source near the lighthouse on the Great Orme. Two dogs were found running loose and barking furiously in the vicinity. After a through search by both boats and the helicopter from RAF Valley and a search of the surrounding land by the Coastguard nothing was found. The two dogs disappeared and it was assumed that they may have been chasing sheep. The lifeboats were stood down at 2130 and returned to station. |

19th March, 2006 3 Miles North West of Great Orme - 2135 hours Heavy Swell and Freezing
The ALB was requested to launch by Holyhead Coastguard after they received a call from a yacht experiencing engine problems. The casualty, Manyana, was a 36' yacht of wooden construction and in good condition. It is believed she was on route from Bangor to Liverpool with four men on board when she developed engine problems, thought to be caused by fuel contamination. The yacht continued under sail but because one of the crew was suffering from sever sea sickness they requested assistance to get into Conwy. The ALB arrived on scene very quickly but was unable to put a crewman on board because of the heavy swell and near freezing conditions. A line was attached to the casualty and she was towed through the north deep into Conwy. All the crew were well. The ALB returned to station at approximately 0100 hours. |

2nd April, 2006 Great Orme - 0920 hours Slight Sea with Blustery Showers
Whilst the ILB was on exercise in the Llandudno area they received a request from the Coastguard that a man and dog were stranded on rocks near Austins Rock. On arrival the located the man and dog and requested the cliff rescue team to come to their aid. The man and dog were both safely taken back to safety whilst the ILB stood by below the cliffs. It transpired that the dog had gone missing whilst out walking yesterday evening and the man, from Prestatyn, went back to look for it this morning. He subsequently became stranded due to wet slippery conditions under foot. |

2nd April, 2006 Colwyn Bay - 0700 hours
The ILB was requested to launch at approximately 0700 hours. The Police had found a woman on the beach at Colwyn Bay who was threatening to commit suicide. Before the ILB arrived on scene the Police had managed to dissuade the woman and took her into custody. The ILB was subsequently stood down. |

8th April, 2006 Great Orme - 1600 hours Force 5-7 - Westerly
The ALB was requested to launch assist Daydream - a 33' auxiliary sailing yacht Danish X332 class based in Liverpool - with two men and one woman on board. The yacht had set off from Liverpool to Port Dinorwic in the Menai Straits but on reaching the west constable buoy experienced alternator failure although she was proceeding under sail. Due to the rough seas and heavy swell the Coastguard advised that the casualty should be escorted by Llandudno's lifeboat into Conwy. The ALB, on reaching Daydream, secured a towing line to the casualty but had to wait by the fairway buoy for the tide to rise sufficiently as the casualty had a 6' draft. She was then taken to Conwy marina and secured and the ALB returned to base at approximately 1930 hours. |

14th April, 2006 Puffin Island - 1700 hours Slight Sea - Sunny
The ALB was launched at approximately 1700 hours to go to the assistance of the yacht Dulcinia, a 35' Moody with 5 people on board. The yacht had experienced engine failure and requested assistance. The Andy Pearce was launched and on arriving on the scene a mechanic was put on board with a starter kit. He was able to get the engine running but the yacht was advised to head for Beaumaris rather and Conwy as planned because at the time of the incident it was low tide. Beaumaris lifeboat escorted the casualty to Beaumaris and Andy Pearce returned to Llandudno just after 1900 hours. |

14th May, 2006 Great Orme - 1435 hours Fairly Calm - Light Drizzle
The ILB was requested to launch by the Coastguard after they received information of a canoeist is trouble in the vicinity of Hornby Cave. The ILB located two canoeist at Pigeons Cave where they had gone ashore for a break and neither were in need of assistance so the ILB returned to base some 15 minutes later after ascertaining that there were no other canoeists in the area. |

14th May, 2006 West Shore - 2123 hours Calm - Dusk
The ILB was tasked to launch after the Coastguard had received reports of someone shouting from the West Shore sand banks. The ILB launched in the North Deep but no-one was found on the sand banks. However the shore crew located someone walking is a strange fashion on the beach near black rocks and the ILB found a Polish girl walking barefoot and soaking wet and in a very distressed state. They took her ashore and she was taken by ambulance to Llandudno hospital. The girl had been cut off by the incoming tide and had called for help but assuming her cries had gone unheard she then swam ashore. A crew member took some dry clothes to the hospital for the girl and after recovering she was allowed home. The ILB returned to base about about 2200 hours |

6th June, 2006 Llandudno - 2006 hours Calm
The ILB was launched after reports of a canoe trapped under Llandudno Pier. On investigation it was found to be an old battered canoe that had obviously been derelict for some time. The canoe was then brought ashore and the ILB stood down. |

9th June, 2006 West Shore - 1745 hours Calm
The ILB was tasked to launch following reports that a number of people were on the sand banks and were in danger of be cut off by the rising tide. The ILB brought safely to shore one adult, two children and one dog. The ILB returned then to base. |

10th June, 2006 East of Puffin Island - 1325 hours Rough conditions
The ALB was tasked to launch to the aid of a 5.5 metre diving rib which had lost engine power east of Puffin Island. There were five persons on board. The ALB took the casualty in tow and headed towards Conwy. There were met at the fairway buoy by Conwy ILB who, because of lack of water in the channel, took over the tow and took the casualty into Conwy. The ALB then returned to station at 1545 hours |
