First Mechanic Les Jones and Second Coxswain Robin Holden recently attended a course at the new college in Poole where they successfully completed a coastal navigation and pilotage course. The week-long course was carried out on board the training launch "Mentor" and involved day and night training.
Coxswain Dan Jones, Deputy Second Coxswain Graham Herritage and crewman Dave Davis pictured with the Station LOM receiving Letters of Appreciation for their courage and skill in going to the aid of a stricken catamaran in rough seas off Llandudno on 24th July, 2004. The craft had suffered severe structural failure in very rough weather conditions.
Crew Members Phil Jones and Danny Jones (pictured) received intensive training in how to operate a 20 knot D-class inshore lifeboat whilst their colleague (not pictured) Dave Davies received instruction in offshore navigation and search and rescue operations. The courses took place at the new training college at Poole.
