In October 1996 the D Class inshore lifeboat - John Saunderson was handed over at a dedication ceremony and continued in service at Llandudno until 2007. She launched on numerous occasions rescuing people cut off by the tide at both the North Shore and West Shore as well as other inshore incidents.
