24th August, 2005 North Shore 1312 hours Visibility Good - Force 5 North-westerly wind Rough sea with some swell
The ILB was launched at 1312 following a phone call to the Coastguard. A jet ski with two people on board had broken down below the lighthouse on the Great Orme. The jet ski was thrown against the rocks by the rough sea. It capsized and fell back into the water. The two managed to get it afloat and away from the rocks. They managed to use a mobile phone to call for assistance. The jet ski was badly damaged and the ILB brought it and the two crew back to Llandudno slipway. Both were shaken but otherwise unhurt. |

5th September, 2005 Colwyn Bay 1420 hours Visibility Good - Calm sea
The ILB was launched at Colwyn to attend a broken down motor boat with two adults and three children on board. The motor boat had launched from the west side of Colwyn Bay pier and gone about 200 metres when it got into difficulties. The ILB attended the vessel and towed it the slipway to the east of the pier where all passengers were safely landed and the ILB returned to station. |

9th September, 2005 Llandudno Bay 0100 hours
The ILB was launched at 0100 hours following a report that a person had been seen entering the sea from the lifeboat slipway. The ILB searched the surrounding area whilst the shore crew searched the the promenade. The police with police dogs also searched the area and the RAF helicopter from Valley also searched the area with their thermal imaging equipment. After two hours nothing was found and the ILB was stood down. |

8th October, 2005 Llandudno West Shore 1855 hours
The ILB was launched from West Shore to attend to a small boat which was reported to be in difficulties to the seaward side of the sandbanks. The ILB launched in the north deep and located the 18' boat which was powered with an outboard motor and had one person on board. The ILB towed the boat into Conwy and to its mooring in the harbour then returned to base at 2000 hours. |

31st October, 2005 Llandudno West Shore 1220 hours
The ILB was launched at 1220 from the West Shore following a call to the Coastguard of the kite surfer in difficulties. A thorough search of the sea and coastal area was made but nothing was found after an hour of searching. It was assumed the kite surfer involved had safely returned to shore and the ILB was stood down and returned to station. |

14th November, 2005 Off Great Orme 0921 hours Visibility good - 15 knot westerly wind
The ALB was tasked at 0921 to assist a 40' motor cruiser "Wasp" which had suffered engine failure approximately one mile off the Great Orme. The casualty was on route from Fleetwood to Conwy with two people on board when the engine failed. Llandudno's Andy Pearce attended and took the casualty in tow and proceeded up the Conwy channel into Conwy Harbour where the boat was moored. The ALB returned round the Great Orme back to Llandudno where she was recovered at approximately 1215 hours. |

12th December, 2005 Colwyn Bay 1830 hours
The ILB was launched shortly after 1830 at the request of the Coastguard after two suicide notes had been found by the Police. The ILB searched the inshore waters in the vicinity of Colwyn Bay pier whilst the ALB, which was on exercise at the time, was diverted to search further off shore. The Police and Coastguard searched along the shore and Police helicopter searched the area using their thermal imaging camera. After searching for over an hour nothing was found and both boats returned to base. |
