Dan Jones, who has been coxswain of Llandudno Lifeboat for 15 years and a crew member for 25 years retires as coxswain in March. Dan will be remaining as a shore crew member and will still be on hand to assist with the training of new crew members. Second Coxswain, Robin Holden, will be taking over as coxswain following Dan’s retirement.


Danny Jones who at 21 has gained the RYA Yachmaster qualification, the highest qualification the RYA can offer. Danny is the third member of Llandudno lifeboat crew to achieve this qualification.
Llandudno’s Coxswain, Robin Holden, has now been appointed to the panel of senior crew members who advise the RNLI project engineers working on development of the next generation of carriage launched lifeboats. He recently completed an intensive course at the Marine Research Institute in Stonehaven studying hull design, hydrodynamics and water-jet propulsion systems. He also gained experience in handling the RNLI’s 43’ twin-waterjet, high-speed trials craft during trials off the Aberdeenshire coast.

Crew member Jobi Hold who has been successful in his application to join the flood relief team. Jobi has been a crew member of 14 years and is also a qualified coxswain.
