The members of the Lifeboat Guild were saddened to learn of the death of their chairman, Tricia Whittaker on 21st April, 2009, following a short illness. Tricia joined the Guild in 1979 and has been an active member every since. She took up the post of chairman in 1987 - a position she continued to hold to the end. During her time as chairman she also held the position of souvenir secretary until 2003. During her active service she looked after the kiosk on Llandudno Pier until that was closed. She continued to help on the souvenir stall on Llandudno Promenade during the summer months, and at coffee mornings was always to be found working hard in the kitchen. She continued chairing Guild meetings up to March, 2009. She was a member of the Branch Committee and was an active supporter of the need for a new boathouse. She will be greatly missed by everyone connected with Llandudno Lifeboat. Her funeral service was held at Holy Trinity Church, Llandudno on Wednesday, 29th April, 2009 and was attended by her many friends from every organisation to which she belonged.
