Keith Charlton, 2nd mechanic at Llandudno Lifeboat Station, has retired after 30 years service with the RNLI. He served firstly with Beaumaris Lifeboat and then joined Llandudno Lifeboat in 1993. He served on both the inshore boat and the all weather boat. As well as serving on both boats he was also very helpful to Llandudno Lifeboat Guild by bringing the sales caravan down to the prom early on Sunday mornings. He plans to continue serving as shore crew.

Bethany Pearson was Rose Queen for her Sunday School at St. Paul's Church, Accrington 2008/2009 and she was allowed to choose which charity they would collect for, for that year. She had been to Llandudno in the summer of 2008 and saw the lifeboat go out quite a few times in the evenings. Speaking to one of the crew she learned it was all voluntary and that the RNLI relied on donations.
Bethany, the Sunday School and Church members helped to raise money by doing a sponsored Bible
read 9.00am-3.00pm, a coffee morning, a Body Shop party and a sponsored walk. Bethany
also had a stall at a car boot sale, a lifeboat colouring competition, raffle, her
uncle kindly made a dolls house and gave her the money when he sold it, and finally
collecting lots of loose change raising ultimately £1,000.00. Bethany is pictured
above handing over the cheque to station mechanic, Les Jones, at Llandudno boathouse.
